Half an hour in the room behind the workshop. We measure pupillary distance, mark the bridge and tell you which frames are wrong for your face before you ask the price.

Replies take a day or two, longer in the week a run goes out. If it is urgent, ring the workshop.
If Kampen is too far
Five frames,
seven days, €5.
Name any five of the twelve and they arrive with plano demo lenses, a mirror card and a prepaid return label. Keep them a week, wear them to work, photograph yourself badly in the hallway. The €5 comes off whatever you keep, and if you keep nothing nobody chases you.

What you can ask for
A repair
Hinges, temple tips and nose pads are replaced free for the life of the frame, whoever made it, if we have the part. Snapped fronts are quoted by return.
New lenses in an old frame
Bring something you already love and we will re-glaze it, provided the rims will take the pressure. We will say no if the acetate has gone brittle.

Do I need an appointment?
Not strictly, but there is one chair. Thursday mornings are usually free and Saturday afternoons never are. Write ahead and we will hold half an hour for you.
Can you test my eyes?
No. We are frame makers, not optometrists. Bring a prescription written in the last two years by anyone you like and we will glaze to it, or we will point you at two practices on the other side of the Oudestraat that we trust.
When is the sold-out frame back?
The Hesse in Smoke Grey is cut and in the tumbler; it goes back on the shop page on 14 November. Everything else sold out this run returns with run 05 in February, or not at all if the sheet has gone.
Will you make something bespoke?
Two or three a year, between runs, from €890. It is six weeks, two fittings and a lot of saying no to ideas. Write with a photograph of the pair you wish still existed and we will tell you honestly whether we can beat it.
Do I have to be photographed?
Never. We ask once, at the end of the fitting, and a no costs nothing. About two in three say yes, which is enough to keep the shop page honest.
